| This year's VBS program was a great success! Thanks to everyone who helped make it so. The theme of the week was "In the Name...". The kids learned that God's name is not "God", that's just a title, but His name is, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Triune God of Holy Scripture is the one true God. Then the kids learned what each Person of the Holy Trinity does. God the Father created all things; God the Son became man and redeemed us sinners from death and the devil; and the Holy Spirit gives us the gift of life and salvation (won by Jesus on the cross) through the Means of Grace (Sacraments): Baptism, Confession & Absolution, preaching, and the Lord's Supper. The kids and volunteers had a great time eating together, worshipping together in chapel, watching Nickolai and Jessie (two frisky dogs) in a puppet show, learning from our wonderful teachers, and finally, doing a great project of stain glass pictures. Take the time to look at the pictures. Our kids are great and they made VBS a joy to be a part of. |
